Reviewing the mind/body literature, and conveying his clinical experience, he explains how the usual suspects - stress, anger, and anxiety - despite widespread beliefs, have not been found to be a cause of hypertension. He then moves on to present an alternative understanding of the mind/body relationship, and its relevance to hypertension.

In this upcoming book, Dr. Mann will look at the mind/body connection as it pertains to many medical conditions whose origin remains unclear. In some of these conditions, a mind/body connection has not even been suspected.

Dr. Mann will discuss the failures of decades of mind/body research that has focused on the widespread belief that stress and emotional distress are at the heart of the mind/body connection.
